POSITION SUMMARY

The Chemical Analysis Specialist utilizes expertise in analytical chemistry methodologies to conduct assessments of petrochemical samples through forensic techniques. This role mandates adherence to established operational protocols and guidelines to ensure timely delivery of data and reports to relevant stakeholders. Proficiency in GC/MS, HPLC, UV/VIS, and Fluorescence Spectroscopy is essential, along with experience in Agilent Mass Hunter, and the ability to collaborate effectively within an analytical chemistry team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following functions are essential to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:

  • Implement testing strategies to support the development, validation, or production analysis of samples.
  • Ensure compliance with good laboratory practices in all sample testing.
  • Conduct all sample analyses in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Adhere to established laboratory safety protocols.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist in the creation of new analytical methods and evaluate potential new marker candidates.
  • Compile, assess, and formally report analytical findings to the R&D team and clients.
  • Review analytical data to ensure conformity with quality standards, including ISO 17025 and ISO 17034.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques, including sample preparation and instrument operation.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to changing conditions.
  • Capability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, chemical handling, and laboratory quality systems.
  • Competence in summarizing, reviewing, and critically evaluating analytical data.
  • Ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Skill in managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
