Home, a place where you belong This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Coordinator to join our team at Britannia House in Bury St Edmunds. As our Housing and Property Guru, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to secure, long-term accommodation. Key Responsibilities: Receive direct referrals from West Suffolk Council and accommodate customers who have presented as homeless within West Suffolk with a priority need. Assist customers with housing benefit claims and Homelink applications, ensuring payments are received on their rent accounts. Issue and sign warning letters and notices when necessary, potentially leading to court attendance. Prepare rooms for new customers, ensuring quick turnaround of vacant properties. Manage voids and repairs to maintain high cleanliness standards. Ensure health and safety compliance and maintenance standards are met. Support customers in engaging with external community support services. Minimum Requirements: Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties. Knowledge of re-letting rooms, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when required. Ability to take a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to colleagues. Proactive, well-organized, and able to positively influence individuals from diverse backgrounds. Confidence in collaborating with colleagues and external partners. Job Details: Provide 24-hour support on a 3-week rota basis, working 1 weekend in 3, including days, evenings, and bank holidays. Proficiency in using technology for support plans, benefit claims, and tenancy sign-ups. Enhanced DBS check required, with costs covered by the employer.
