As a Senior Engineering Project Coordinator at National Grid plc, you will play a pivotal role in delivering effective and secure metering solutions for our clientele across designated regions.

Your responsibilities will encompass the management of various engineering initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration among multiple stakeholders. This includes:

  • Conducting meetings with end consumers
  • Coordinating with service partners and asset suppliers
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues in the Engineering Team and other departments

You will need to be adaptable and capable of managing several projects simultaneously to fulfill customer requirements by offering optimal engineering solutions.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing detailed scopes of work
  • Ordering materials in accordance with metering protocols and contracts

Strong project management and communication skills are essential, as fostering teamwork and building relationships with external entities will be crucial to your success.

Safety will be a core focus of your role, and you will be expected to exemplify best practices in safety, health, and environmental standards.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying future investment and innovation opportunities within our operational metering portfolio
  • Evaluating investment needs based on condition, risk, and lifecycle costs of installations

This position requires participation in a standby rota, ensuring availability for urgent matters.

To excel in this role, familiarity with MP, IP, and HP gas installations, as well as a solid understanding of UK regulations and gas industry standards, is advantageous. Holding relevant 'Gas Safe' and SCO qualifications is preferred.

Experience in designing modules and commissioning metering assets is essential.

A valid UK driving license is required, along with a willingness to travel within your designated area and occasionally beyond.

While this position is primarily home-based, regular face-to-face meetings at various locations will be expected throughout the year.
