Assures adequate zone coverage, compliance, and serves as Ameripro's liaison with outside responding agencies and personnel. Employees hired into this position are subject to a six month introductory probationary period.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Supervises day-to-day field operation employees in the absence of senior management.Ensures field employees have the required equipment to perform the essential functions of their assigned duties.Serves as liaison for field staff to other departments (i.e., Training, CQI, Payroll, Human Resources, Billing, Communication.)Prepares appropriate reports in the absence of senior management involving mechanical breakdowns, accident investigation, exposures, daily shift activities, and other incidents that may occur.Ensures assigned employees consistently adhere to AmeriPro's policies, procedures, guidelines, directives and standards. Ensures that Ameripro EMS Patient Care Protocols are adhered to.Assist the Director in evaluating the performance of employees assigned to him/her, maintain attendance records and ensure employees maintain required certifications.In conjunction with the Communications Supervisor, monitors the overall deployment and efficiency of the established system.Shall perform the duties outlined in the Paramedic or EMT Job Description as required. Performs all of the above functions in accordance with established financial and operational plans and goals pertaining to cost effectiveness and efficient management.Shall respond to the scene of calls with crews and shall assume transport sector officer and coordinate ambulance transport in the event of a Mass Casualty IncidentAssists with working relationships between County officials (attending board meetings, etc.) and senior management. Ensures all station issues are addressed in a timely manner (getting quotes from different businesses and relaying information to senior management).Understands how to use company software (OpIQ, Eso scheduling, Zoll respond, Ems charts).Attends weekly meetings with IT, HR, Billing, Communication and Senior Management to ensure area of responsibility is meeting standards, give updates and receive feedback.Responsible for communicating with Mississippi State Ems officials to ensure that all trucks are within state regulations. Responsible for QA of patient care reports and meeting with State QA officer each quarter to ensure compliance with state regulations. QualificationsMinimum Operations Supervisor Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 2 years of experience in the EMS field preferred.Certifications EMT or Paramedic, ACLS if applicable, PPC/PALS, PHTLS/BTLS Current Drivers License.Excellent organizational and leadership skills.Effective written and verbal skills, including proper spelling and grammar.Basic computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel.Level II EMT/ParamedicAttend RSI training class.Ventilator certified every three (3) years.Holds a position as an FTO or higher.Successful completion of a written and practical exam. FEMA IS certs: (IS:100; IS:200; IS:800; IS:900)Knowledge, Skills and Ability:Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services.Knowledge of company medical director approved protocols and standing orders.Ability to read and interpret local maps.Demonstrated skills in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous and rapidly emergent tasks.Demonstrated ability to read and understand medical terminology. Demonstrated ability to write reports, and correspondence.Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding patient care, Puckett EMS operations and other customer service issues.Demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer systems including PCR reporting, email and MDT applications. Demonstrated ability to represent Ameripro EMS and other team members as an EMS professional.Demonstrated ability to utilize a ventilator in a clinical environment.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stand, or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Working Environment:Due to the nature of EMS Care working conditions, employees may be exposed to inclement weather, potentially hazardous conditions, psychological stressors, diseases and other illnesses. Frequent interruptions, work pressure, difficult personalities and irregularities in the work schedule are expected. Employee is subject to continually changing deadlines, while performing the duties of this job. The employee will be occasionally required to attend meetings, some of which may take place outside of regular working hours. The employee will occasionally go for periods of time without sleep, food, or breaks as determined by call load.
