Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and streamline all warehouse operations to enhance productivity.
  • Promote a culture of ongoing improvement by utilizing key performance indicators, training, and mentoring to keep team members focused on essential operational elements.

  • Provide support to Customer Service, Counter personnel, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and Inventory Management as required.
  • Supervise the review queue for branch operations.
  • Address and resolve any inquiries related to inbound, outbound, or product-related questions.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the warehouse to identify safety and cleanliness concerns.
  • Analyze daily reports to uncover opportunities for improvement and identify root causes of issues.
  • Manage all cross-docking and transfer operations as they occur.
  • Resolve general operational challenges as they arise.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all parcel shipments for customer delivery.

Personnel Management:

  • Address any employee-related issues that may arise.
  • Encourage communication and teamwork among staff to achieve operational objectives with high performance standards.
  • Complete all assigned training programs.
  • Monitor and enforce training initiatives for team members under your supervision.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of training processes for team members.
  • Take responsibility for company projects that may relate indirectly to your area of oversight.
  • Ensure a safe and organized working environment at all times.
  • Evaluate team members and provide performance reviews to management as requested.
  • Communicate policies to ensure compliance and administer corrective actions as necessary.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure inventory accuracy to minimize shrinkage, damage, and obsolete stock.
  • Adhere to customer delivery schedules, linehaul pull times, and efficient routing for delivery vehicles.
  • Guarantee that orders are accurately picked, packed, loaded, and delivered, ensuring proper packaging and labeling for customer presentation.
  • Ensure all inbound shipments are received and stored accurately, both physically and in the inventory system.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday work), requiring 45-50 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record as a results-driven individual with over 5 years of experience in industrial warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead, coach, delegate, and mentor Supervisors, Associates, and Drivers, fostering skill development to enhance productivity.
  • Capable of establishing priorities and working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in utilizing data and metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous operational enhancements.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent); a college degree is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret computer system images, reports, and documents.
  • Familiarity with NEFCO's ERP software system; experience with Eclipse is highly desirable.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Analytical skills, including basic math capabilities.
  • Ability to utilize warehouse layouts for planning purposes.
  • Possess a positive, diligent attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach, capable of multitasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in various climate conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity.
  • Physical capability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and twist for lifting tasks.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment (including forklifts) and willingness to undergo recertification.
