Position Summary:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily EMS field operations in the absence of senior management. This role ensures adequate coverage, compliance with protocols, and acts as a liaison with external agencies and personnel. A six-month introductory probationary period applies to new hires.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily field operations in the absence of senior management.
  • Ensure field staff are equipped with necessary tools for their roles.
  • Act as a liaison between field personnel and various departments.
  • Prepare reports on incidents, equipment failures, and daily activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and patient care protocols.
  • Assist in evaluating employee performance and maintaining certification records.
  • Monitor deployment and efficiency of operations in collaboration with the Communications Supervisor.
  • Respond to emergency calls and coordinate transport during critical incidents.
  • Foster relationships with local officials and senior management.
  • Address station-related issues promptly.
  • Utilize company software for operational management.
  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings to ensure operational standards are met.
  • Communicate with state EMS officials to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct quality assurance on patient care reports and collaborate with state QA officers.
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years in the EMS field preferred.
  • Certifications: EMT or Paramedic, ACLS, PPC/PALS, PHTLS/BTLS.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Level II EMT/Paramedic certification.
  • Completion of RSI training.
  • Ventilator certification every three years.
  • Experience as an FTO or higher.
  • Successful completion of written and practical exams.
  • FEMA IS certifications: IS:100, IS:200, IS:800, IS:900.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of emergency medical service methods and techniques.
  • Familiarity with medical protocols and standing orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps.
  • Skills in managing multiple urgent tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to comprehend medical terminology.
  • Proficient in report writing and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and address inquiries.
  • Competence in using personal computer systems for reporting and communication.
  • Ability to represent AmeriPro EMS professionally.
  • Skills in utilizing ventilators in clinical settings.
Physical Requirements:

This role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting and moving heavy objects. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception. Employees may encounter various working conditions, including exposure to inclement weather and potential hazards.

Working Environment:

Due to the nature of EMS operations, employees may experience psychological stressors and irregular work schedules. Frequent interruptions and changing deadlines are expected.
