Job Responsibilities:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily EMS field operations in the absence of senior management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising field operation personnel and ensuring they have the necessary equipment to perform their duties.
  • Acting as a liaison between field staff and other departments such as Training, CQI, Payroll, Human Resources, and Communication.
  • Preparing reports related to mechanical issues, incidents, and daily activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with AmeriPro's policies and patient care protocols.
  • Assisting in employee performance evaluations and maintaining attendance records.
  • Monitoring deployment and efficiency of the EMS system.
  • Responding to emergency calls and coordinating ambulance transport during critical incidents.
  • Addressing station-related issues and ensuring timely communication with management.
  • Maintaining knowledge of company software and attending regular meetings with various departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with state regulations and conducting quality assurance of patient care reports.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Operations Supervisor position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the EMS field is preferred.
  • Certifications: EMT or Paramedic, ACLS (if applicable), PPC/PALS, PHTLS/BTLS, and a current Driver's License.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Certification as a Level II EMT/Paramedic.
  • Successful completion of required training and exams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of emergency medical service methods and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret local maps and navigate effectively.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and report writing.
  • Ability to utilize personal computer systems for reporting and communication.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving patients and equipment. Candidates must be able to:

  • Regularly use hands for handling and reaching.
  • Stand, walk, and occasionally sit or climb.
  • Lift and/or move up to 180 pounds frequently and up to 300 pounds occasionally with assistance.

Working Environment:

Employees may encounter various working conditions, including exposure to inclement weather and potentially hazardous situations. The role may involve:

  • Frequent interruptions and work pressure.
  • Irregular work schedules and changing deadlines.
