As they continue to expand their footprint in the West Coast, and Midwest markets, they are seeking a dynamic Director of Business Development (CPG Food/Meat) to lead and drive sales operations across the region. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales leader with a passion for the CPG Food/Meat industry and a drive to make a significant impact in Colorado (remote) Job Description Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership: Lead the development and execution of sales strategies for the West Coast and Mid-West regions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and growth targets. Team Management: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, including sales reps, regional managers, and other support staff. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure the team meets or exceeds sales goals. Market Expansion: Identify new business opportunities, untapped markets, and strategic partnerships across the West Coast. Increase market penetration in key accounts and expand distribution channels. Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier accounts (distributors, retailers, and on-premise establishments) to drive revenue and brand loyalty. Strategic Planning & Reporting: Develop and track sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics. Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding sales performance, market trends, and competitive insights. Brand Promotion: Ensure the successful execution of marketing, promotional, and product launch initiatives in the region. Work with the marketing team to drive brand visibility and consumer engagement. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, finance, and logistics, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and product delivery. Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead negotiations with key distributors and accounts, ensuring favorable terms and maintaining strong business relationships. Travel & Representation: Regularly travel throughout the West Coast and Midwest to engage with clients, attend trade shows, and represent the brand at key industry events. The Successful Applicant Qualifications for Director of Business Development (CPG Meat/Food): Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the FMCG Frozen Meat market . Proven track record in managing large teams and driving regional sales growth. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the food/meat industry, market dynamics, and key players on the West Coast. Experience working with both on- and off-premise channels is a plus. Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities. Proven experience in managing, coaching, and developing sales teams to achieve business objectives. Sales Strategy: Expertise in sales forecasting, account development, and executing long-term sales strategies. Ability to drive top-line growth while managing margins and profitability. Relationship Building: Strong network of contacts within the industry (distributors, retailers, bars, restaurants) and proven ability to forge lasting business partnerships. Results-Oriented: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet sales goals. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to and influence senior leadership, customers, and stakeholders. Travel: Willingness to travel frequently within the West Coast region and attend industry events as needed. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
