Your New Role – Accounting Manager As the Accounting Manager you will, manage the General Ledger Unit and serve as the technical expert for the unit by providing leadership and coordination of the departments accounting and fiscal operations. Duties will include: As the technical expert, you will analyze the content and interpret for department application and compliance. Make recommendations to management for implementation of needed procedural changes, policy updates and duty alignment. Train agency fiscal staff and department personnel in financial matters throughout the state. Act as the liaison between financial services and the field. Review fiscal operations for G.A.A.P. and state and federal mandated procedural compliance. Manage 10 accounting staff in the General Ledger Unit. Coordinate the flow of transactions into the R*STARS accounting system. MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience OR Two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. REQUESTED SKILLS

: Must keep current, and have extensive knowledge of G.A.A.P. and state and federal requirements, and state accounting policies and standards. Must have good computer skill using database and spreadsheet software. Ability to be a technical expert for R*STARS and BRIO. Ability to work independently and to make proper sound decisions. Ability to plan, assign and approved work for staff. Ability to manage staff (coordinate schedules, hire and discharge, conduct performance evaluations etc) Ability to assure the accurate and timely reporting of agency transactions for the compliance of the states CAFR.
