What You Will be Doing:
You will examine accounts for reconciliation, reporting and interpretation of accounting records, and are responsible for standard accounting system operations, structures, internal controls, and reporting. This position’s primary role is in accounts receivable but also acts as a backup for other Accounts Payable positions. You will provide professional, high-quality, efficient, calm, and confidential support to the agency.
In this role you will:
- Work with interrelated accounts in automated accounting systems, allocate charges to accounts, reconcile accounts, analyze accounting transactions, billing and collection of receivables, prepare reports, and maintain accounting controls.
- Review fiscal transactions to assure conformity with accepted accounting principles and with statue, policy and procedures, and availability of funds.
- Verify fiscal source documents for accuracy, completeness, authorization, and coding for daily cash deposits and expenditures of various accounts.
- Examine, analyze, interpret, and record information necessary for billing.
- Generate accurate and timely invoices in accordance with contracts and general accounts receivable and accounts payable practices; perform collection activities; and prepare accounts receivables analysis, aging, and summary reports.

What We Are Looking For (Desired Attributes):

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours in accounting from an accredited institution; OR
- 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours in Accounting from an accredited institution AND two years of technical, para- professional accounting experience to include: a) classifying, analyzing, and reconciling financial data and records; b) designing, recommending, and installing modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records; c) preparing financial statements and reports; d) analyzing and interpreting laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances to ensure the legality of financial transactions; and e) analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations related to accounting transactions, accounts and account relationships resulting in accounting entries.
