Key Responsibilities:

  • Formally assess a client's current accounting system and business functions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Make recommendations for improvement in various aspects of a company's financial operations, including accounting system operations, financial statement preparation, and supervision of accounting, payroll, and sales tax functions.
  • Implement recommendations to a client's system to ensure seamless integration and optimal results.
  • Assist clients with management reporting, including budgeting, KPIs, and other metrics, and provide internal review of such reports.
  • Research, discovery, and creation of new business technologies to streamline and grow the practice, including opportunities with existing clients.
  • Lead a team of Outsourced Accounting professionals, including on-going teaching, training, and professional development.
  • Participate in the proposal process for prospective clients and represent Forvis Mazars, LLP in the professional and business community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting, organizational accounting operations, including accounting system operations, financial statement preparation, and supervision of accounting, payroll, and sales tax functions.
  • Ability to learn to navigate several accounting packages and add-on platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with accounting software(s), monthly/period processing and closing, financial statement analysis and preparation.
  • CPA, CGMA, or CMA certificate.
  • QuickBooks Online Advanced Certification.
  • Sage Intacct user experience and Accounting Specialist Certification.
  • Business development experience.
