Position Description:

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for providing product demonstrations, customer support, assisting customers with securing financing, managing sales of volumetric concrete mixers, and maintaining communication with internal teams. This role also includes facilitating field service activities, covering territories with no sales presence, and attending tradeshows.

Territory: North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsen, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, New Jersey, Maine

Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to Company Goals and Policies:
    • Ensure all actions align with the company's goals, policies, and procedures.
    • Execute essential functions and other duties as directed.
  • Product Knowledge and Technical Expertise:
    • Maintain in-depth commercial and technical knowledge of ProAll's products, including applicability, possible modifications, financing resources, and manufacturing processes.
    • Continuously update knowledge on new products, concepts, and enhancements, and understand how they apply to existing or new markets.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of competitive products and incorporate this information into sales presentations.
  • Sales Activities:
    • Travel within a defined sales district to maintain direct contact with and educate existing and potential customers on the product line, including features, benefits, options, and competition.
    • Analyze customer equipment needs and job conditions to promote interest in ProAll products.
    • Anticipate customer needs, suggesting more productive machines and attachments.
    • Treat all customer communications with utmost confidentiality.
    • Develop and implement cost-cutting and sales improvement ideas.
  • Sales Execution:
    • Develop estimates and transform them into formal quotes.
    • Advise management on needed assistance or tools to close deals.
    • Produce or facilitate the production of sales order contracts and checklists.
    • Process reports and photographs for used equipment trades or sales.
    • Coordinate and assist with customer visits to the factory.
  • Post-Sale Support:
    • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
    • Assist Service and Warranty departments as needed.
    • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.
    • Track persistent problems, intercede with appropriate departments, and inform customers of faulty operation and maintenance practices.
    • Advise management on assistance needed for resolving persistent issues.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Provide a weekly itinerary and update it as changes occur.
    • Maintain daily customer contact, dealer contact, and reports to the office and Sales Manager.
    • Plan and maintain travel schedules and control expenses.
    • Maintain required written reports, including customer sales contact reports, monthly reviews, expense reports, and forecasts.
    • Report lost sales and competitive activities.
    • Submit quarterly evaluations of the territory, including lost sales, market position, competition profiles, dealer evaluations, product recommendations, and needed changes.
    • Collect competitive intelligence, prices, quotes, and specifications.
  • Safety and Professionalism:
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work area.
    • Report improperly operating equipment.
    • Assist new employees with orientation, learning key support systems, policies, procedures, and personnel.
    • Adhere to general safety requirements and procedures; use protective safety equipment as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in marketing and selling industrial equipment similar to heavy equipment products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of a technical field
  • Degree in engineering, business, or marketing
  • Familiarity with direct sales practices to construction contractors
  • Proven ability to initiate, cultivate, and maintain relationships with end users of concrete equipment
  • Mechanical ability or service background
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Contribution to project plan development
  • Experience with equipment operation
  • Ability to work independently and manage a large sales territory
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Professionalism in business relationships
  • Superior time management and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work involving constant sitting
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally and frequently lift 1-2 pounds

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
