**Knowledge Skills Abilities**:

- Knowledge of federal and state disaster behavioral health planning, response, and recovery programs and services.
- Knowledge of preparedness, planning, and mitigation as it relates to the disaster life cycle.
- Knowledge of the National Incident Management System and the Incident Command System.
- Knowledge of adult learning protocols and experience delivering training to adult audiences.
- Knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Texas Division of Emergency Management, and Victims of Crime Act as it relates to DBH planning, response, and recovery.
- Knowledge of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Crisis Counseling and Training Assistance Program, and/or the Office for Victims of Crime’s mass violence recovery modalities.

- Skills in developing, preparing, reviewing, and delivering presentations, trainings, briefings, and reports to diverse audiences on DBH, disaster response and immediate recovery-related issues, programs, projects, and/or grants and associated correspondence.

Abilities:

- Ability to work long hours under stressful and tight deadlines in support of DBH response and recovery operations/activities.
- Ability to accurately perform duties under stressful conditions with strict deadlines and competing priorities.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work within scheduling constraints, competing priorities and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and deliver trainings, briefings, and presentations to diverse audiences using Microsoft software including PowerPoint and Excel or similar programs.
- Ability to use initiative to develop solutions to barriers or problems.
- Ability to make independent and sound technical judgments and to analyze new situations when encountered.
- Ability to create and maintain accurate records on multiple programs, projects, and grant documents.

Current Drivers License

**Initial Selection Criteria**:

- Completion of FEMA courses IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 is preferred. If these have not been completed, they must be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Training in the utilization of DBH principles and early psychological interventions throughout the disaster cycle is preferred but not required.- **Additional Information**:

- Positions advertised with this position description are temporary and will only be filled through the duration of the grant cycle.
