Position Overview

The Comptroller's Office is in search of a Systems Analyst VI to join the Fiscal Management – CAPPS Staff Division. This role is crucial in managing the planning and evaluation of functional and system requirements, procedures, and challenges to enhance automation processes or refine existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide core system support for CAPPS Production to users across State of Texas agencies utilizing CAPPS Financials (PeopleSoft 9.2).
  • Offer system expertise and functional assistance throughout the application development and modification processes, ensuring seamless integration between CAPPS Financials and other CPA systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Six years of experience in process or systems analysis, focusing on areas such as general ledger, purchasing, accounts payable, and project costing.
  • Two years of experience with the PeopleSoft FSCM Purchasing module.
  • One year of experience with PeopleSoft version 9.2 or higher.
  • Proficiency in writing Functional Design Documents and participating in ERP initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting ERP systems in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Public Administration, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Experience in developing requirements and implementing components of statewide financial systems.
  • Familiarity with SQL Developer for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of Texas state government processes and policies.
  • Experience in creating and evaluating training programs.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies and change control processes.
  • Ability to perform business or systems analysis using defined methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information effectively and encourage idea exchange.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information.
