The Office of Student Conduct is seeking an**_ Assistant Director, Student Conduct_** (Student Life Administrator) who leads the efforts to educate students about community standards of academic ethics. Supervised by the Associate Director of Student Conduct, the Assistant Director has primary responsibility for the KSAS and WSE undergraduate and KSAS Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) academic ethics violations and resolution processes.

The Assistant Director serves as part of the investigative team in part of the Office of Student Conduct and will be called on to resolve university-wide code violations as needed. The Assistant Director will serve as the primary point of contact for the DC campuses and will physically rotate to DC for training and support the graduate divisions' function during the academic year.

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
- Serve as the primary Academic Integrity Officer for KSAS and WSE undergraduate and KSAS Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) for academic ethics violations and resolution processes.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students, for the Student Conduct and Academic Ethics Board.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a part-time graduate student.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and training for the Integrity Ambassador Program.
- Assist with the training of the Student Conduct and Academic Ethics Boards.
- Staff and assist in all administrative and logístical aspects of the Student Conduct and Academic Ethics Board.
- Convene the AAP Ethics Committee and Undergraduate Academic Ethics Boards.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with students who have not completed assigned sanctions.
- Provide guidance to faculty, staff, and leadership to ensure compliance with division, school, and University policies.
- Develop and oversee the proactive education efforts for Academic Integrity initiatives, including launching Integrity Week.
- Assist the Office of Student Conduct and Faculty and Academic Affairs Officer with developing student conduct training and ensuring workshops for faculty, staff, and students are effectively planned and evaluated.
- Serve as a secondary on-call in the on-call rotation responding to student emergencies both on and off campus.
- Support the University's Demonstration Response Team by serving on the response team.
- Ensure accurate, consistent correspondence is produced pertaining to student disciplinary cases and ethics violations.
- Prepare and copy hearing materials, scripts, and associated correspondence for board members. Collaborate with university partners and other stakeholders to provide a comprehensive menu of educational and developmental resources for sanctioning.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a full spectrum of conflict resolution options, including conflict coaching, facilitated dialogue, mediation, conciliation, and restorative practices. Participate in professional development opportunities related to student conduct and academic integrity.
- Serve on committees as appropriate, both at the DC location and the Homewood campus.

**Special Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities**
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal laws, state laws, and mandates including Title IX of the Higher Education Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, American Disabilities Act, the Higher Education Act of America, Jeanne Clery Act, and the Drug-Free Schools Act.
- Experience working in an institution of higher education, especially in a student affairs role.
- Awareness of the current issues in higher education.
- Ability to thrive and bring order and direction to ambiguous situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise discretion and mature judgment, and manage multiple priorities at once.
- Ability to work well with a variety of people in assessing system strengths and weaknesses.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Three to five years of experience in the student affairs division in higher education.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field preferred.
