Job Overview

The Culinary Program Director of Student Services plays a pivotal role in shaping the student experience and fostering their growth within the program. This position is responsible for nurturing the ongoing success of alumni post-graduation, working in partnership with students, their parents, and community supports to create a personalized pathway for each student to achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the prospective student application process, conducting comprehensive interviews and documenting observations to understand student needs and maintain effective communication on application statuses.
  • Facilitate pre and post-program meetings with students and families to establish post-program goals, leveraging LifeCourse Nexus resources in collaboration with the Culinary Program Instructor.
  • Provide individualized support to students and families, addressing their unique needs to ensure effective care and development during their time as students and alumni.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with students and families during class sessions to monitor progress, address challenges, and ensure overall program success.
  • Engage with alumni and families to provide support, share event information, and promote workforce development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hiring partners to foster employment opportunities for alumni, serving as a liaison between alumni and hiring partners to facilitate and monitor the employment process.
  • Provide strategic job matching for alumni and hiring partners, understanding business needs and alumni goals.
  • Collaborate with the Job Coach Coordinator to ensure accurate alumni data and effective employment coaching initiatives.
  • Communicate with alumni and their families on job matching and employment progress, modifying or updating goals as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Program Director and Culinary Camp Instructor to facilitate the application process for The Culinary Program Summer Camp and provide support throughout the camp.
  • Manage all aspects of alumni events, including logistics and coordination to ensure their success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in Education, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience in alumni relations, student services, or related roles.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment

This part-time position requires the ability to commute to Huntingtown, MD, and relocate to the area before starting work.
