As Head of People Operations, you will report directly to the COO. You will carry out operational and strategic efforts in several areas related to our people. As part of these efforts, you will collaborate with a talented, accomplished, and experienced group of colleagues from a variety of functions in machine learning, finance, and technology. You will lead and build out our tight-knit People Operations team. Your efforts will help shape the future of our organization. This role is a means to make a difference: you will engage in some of our highest-priority organizational efforts, and you will convert ideas into tangible results.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic areas
  • Lead strategic programs at Voleon in key areas, such as people analytics, employee engagement, career development, performance, ongoing learning/skill development, office space, etc.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on culture-related initiatives, diversity-related initiatives, employee communication initiatives, etc.
  • Operational areas
  • Provide operational leadership and hands-on contributions in core human resource-related functions, such as compensation, benefits, employee relations, documentation, etc.
  • Implement and oversee support programs for current and prospective employees
  • Oversee HR-related legal/regulatory topics in coordination with external and internal counsel, including immigration, employment-related areas, etc.
  • Manage using an ERP

  • Manage a team of talented Human Resources colleagues
  • Work with our recruiting team before sourcing (i.e., job specifications, etc.) and after hiring (i.e., consistent candidate-to-employee experience, etc.)
  • Compile, own, and manage key People Operations-related metrics
  • Oversee office management for our facilities, which span across multiple buildings and locations
  • Work with our legal/compliance and finance teams to oversee legal and regulatory topics that relate to People Operations
Requirements
  • At least five years of experience in senior People Operations-related leadership roles
  • Strong writing skills and analytical skills.
  • Experience in scaling an organization as Head of People or in a similar capacity
  • Familiarity with Federal labor laws, California labor laws, and labor laws in other jurisdictions
  • Expertise in compensation benchmarking is a plus
  • Expertise in learning and development is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Authorization to work in the United States

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $225,000 in the location(s) of this posting. Individual salaries are determined through a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Base salary does not include other forms of total compensation such as bonus compensation and other benefits. Our benefits package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, life and AD&D insurance, 20 days of paid time off, 9 sick days, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
