Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Garden Care Operations Manager to join our team at Mariposa Gardening & Design. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our gardens, ensuring meticulous care and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance crew members, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient and skilled maintenance practices.
    • Manage time, timesheets, and scheduling for the department, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Garden Care and Maintenance
    • Oversee the daily operations of our gardens, ensuring meticulous care and attention to detail.
    • Implement and maintain ecological practices, such as companion planting, organic pest management, and native plant care.
    • Stay up-to-date on irrigation needs, adjusting watering schedules and troubleshooting issues to maintain optimal soil moisture levels.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage budgets, expenses, and resource allocation for each job, ensuring profitability and efficient use of resources.
    • Order materials, plants, tools, and equipment as needed, ensuring timely delivery and installation.
  • Client Communication
    • Maintain clear and regular communication with clients, scheduling maintenance visits and consultations, and promptly addressing inquiries and feedback.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of crew management experience.
  • Deep understanding of drip irrigation systems and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with ecological gardening practices, such as pest management without chemicals and seasonal pruning techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience with growing and caring for native plants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and clients.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  • Current CA Driver's License.
