ABOUT THE JOB
The Director of Education Programs provides leadership and oversight of GRoW @ The Wallis, the umbrella for The Wallis arts education programs. This role is responsible for maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, including senior leadership, staff, program participants, artists, teachers, Board members, donors, volunteers, and community leaders. The Director will uphold The Wallis core values of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.
This role supervises the Director of the Creative Aging Program, the Education Programs Manager, the Education Programs Coordinator, and the Education Programs Registrar.
WHAT YOULL DO
Responsibilities include:
Departmental Leadership
Lead and manage the team, communicate goals, manage the Boards education committee, and foster a respectful work environment.
Programming
Oversee and execute arts education programs, define vision for educational programming, collaborate on relevant programming, and assist in marketing and branding.
Community Engagement & Fundraising
Expand relationships with community partners, evaluate programmatic goals, deliver presentations, and assist in fundraising efforts.
Operations & Budget Management
Ensure fiscal integrity, develop budgets, track expenses, and manage contracts.
Team Development
Recruit, develop, and evaluate staff, and define goals aligned with organizational objectives.
Thought Leadership
Lead initiatives, partner on training programs, stay informed on best practices, legislative impacts, and seek input from key constituencies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Bachelors degree preferred, some college required.
Experience in educational program design and administration in the arts.
Passion for arts education, ability to manage people, programs, and budgets.
Strong communication skills, commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.
Desired traits: engaging leader, strategic thinker, excellent communicator, relationship-builder, and team player.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Full-time position with salary range $120,000.00 to $145,000.00 per year, 100% paid medical benefits, paid time off, 401k, and more.
