Job Overview

The Jewish Education + Bay Area Programs Manager plays a vital role in advancing Tawonga's mission by working closely with the Bay Area Programming team to design and execute various local programs. This position will oversee initiatives such as the B*Mitzvah program, Tawonga Family School, Tot Shabbats, holiday celebrations, and community service days, while also facilitating program growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

Essential functions of this role include:

  • Supervising lead Jewish educators and teaching assistants.
  • Managing the B*Mitzvah program and Tawonga Family School.
  • Collaborating on hiring and training of program educators.
  • Supporting summer functions and parent communications.
  • Implementing holiday programs in partnership with other organizations.

Program Oversight

Responsibilities also include:

  • Coordinating classes, retreats, and educational services for the B*Mitzvah program.
  • Ensuring high-quality experiences for families and educators in the Tawonga Family School.
  • Providing support and feedback to educators and managing classroom dynamics.
  • Creating engaging educational materials and lesson plans.
  • Building relationships with diverse families and addressing their needs.

Service Planning and Community Engagement

This role will also involve:

  • Overseeing mentorship programs and service projects.
  • Coordinating holiday programming and community events.
  • Marketing and recruiting for educational programs.

Professional Development

Continuous professional growth is encouraged through participation in relevant training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • Experience in Jewish education and program management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in the Bay Area, with flexible working hours during the off-season and required evening and weekend commitments during peak periods.

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
