Position Overview

The Jewish Education + Bay Area Programs Manager plays a vital role in advancing Tawonga's mission by working closely with the Bay Area Programming team to design and execute various programs. This role involves collaboration with the Assistant Director of Bay Area Programs & Partnerships to enhance existing programs and develop new initiatives, including the B*Mitzvah program, Tawonga Family School, holiday events, and community service days.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision

  • Oversee the lead Jewish Educators and Teaching Assistants for the B*Mitzvah Program and Tawonga Family School.

Program Management

  • Administer the Tawonga B*Mitzvah program and Tawonga Family School, ensuring high-quality educational experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director on the recruitment and training of program educators.
  • Support summer activities, including transportation logistics and family communications.
  • Implement holiday programs in partnership with other organizations and facilitate family volunteer days.

Curriculum Development

  • Manage all aspects of the B*Mitzvah program, including class organization, retreats, and Hebrew education.
  • Supervise educators, providing feedback and support to enhance classroom management and lesson delivery.
  • Engage with families to build relationships and address any challenges that arise.

Community Engagement

  • Develop marketing strategies to promote the B*Mitzvah Program and Tawonga Family School.
  • Foster connections with families from diverse backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity in all programming.

Professional Development

Engage in continuous professional development relevant to the role and organizational needs.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in Jewish education and program management.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise staff effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum innovation and development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in the Bay Area, with flexible working hours during the off-season and additional responsibilities during the summer.

This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
