Job Function
Reporting into the Business Director, the Territory Sales Manager will be based out of remote and will be responsible for direct management of existing and new customer relationships and increasing sales of colorants and pigments into the coatings market in the assigned territory through market development and conversion of primary sales targets including the proliferation of existing product lines and new product line introductions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain close contact with customers and develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, including technical personnel, purchasing and marketing departments.
- Know customer requirements, processes, direction, potential, structure, and market share. Communicate internally for maximum support and customer satisfaction. Conduct a monthly and annual forecast with supply chain.
- Know and understand what Vibrantz Technologies has to offer and effectively communicate to customers. Capitalize on opportunities to grow the territory through the introduction of products, services and other capabilities.
- Cultivate internal relationships to assure customers are supported internally to assure high level of customer satisfaction. Effectively communicate, internally, customer strategies and requirements.
- Manage relationships with external sales representatives (Distributor/Agent) through joint customer development, account conversions, and customer relationship support.
- Support and achieve the Sales Plan through the retention of key accounts and development of target accounts.
- Increase sales in the territory for maximum profitability.
- Communicate all important business, market, competitive, and customer issues on a timely basis to management and those others involved.
- Report project status, business activity, and market intelligence to the Commercial Manager Coatings - Americas monthly.
- Summarize activities on a routine basis as required and provide quarterly reviews to plan.
- Submit reports, including customer call reports, on a timely basis.
- Comply with safety rules and regulations. Report injury/illness and/or environmental incidents.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in chemistry, biology, or engineering.
- 1+ year of demonstrated experience in sales or related area required.
- Demonstrated successful track record consistently meeting or exceeding quotas in developing and managing clients.
- Strong understanding and experience of sales techniques and support systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use statistical problem-solving skills to forecast future sales potential.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, business writing and oral communication skills.
- Independent thinker, with good judgment skills and proven track record in problem solving.
- Experience and understanding of the colorants and pigments industry is a significant benefit.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite. SAP experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel within an established territory spanning US and Canada up to 50% of the time.
