Gecko Hospitality is now searching for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef in Denver The ideal Sous Chef should excel in kitchen and management operations, support the Executive Chef, prioritize team growth, maintain kitchen standards, oversee the team, and validate training programs.

  • Assist the Executive Chef closely in all kitchen activities.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on fostering team member growth discussions.
  • Ensure maintenance of kitchen organization and hygiene in line with local health standards.
  • Supervise the kitchen team, encompassing Line Cooks and Dish Team, taking responsibility for food preparation environment.
  • Validate MIT training for FOH trainers and internal promotions of Keyholders and Sous staff.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-4 years current experience as a salaried Sous Chef in a Full Service or Upscale Casual restaurant
  • High volume background - must have Sous Chef or Executive Sous experience in restaurants doing over $5 million in sales per year
  • Ability to maintain high levels of food quality, consistency, and hygiene
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on with hiring, training, and developing hourly employees
  • Excellent work ethic and drive to succeed
  • Sous Chef candidates must be proficient with financials (P&L's, inventory, food/labor cost, etc.)
