We are a mature startup headquartered in Tokyo, Japan that makes automated cooking robots. We are revolutionizing the food service industry with our cutting-edge kitchen automation equipment. Our machines seamlessly integrate hardware and software to deliver reliable, efficient, and consistent cooking experiences for commercial kitchens. As we expand into the US market, we are setting up a base in Los Angeles and are looking for a dedicated Sales Lead to join our team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Full-Time Sales Lead to drive our efforts in acquiring new clients and expanding our market presence in the United States. This role is instrumental in building relationships with commercial restaurant clients, promoting our cutting-edge automated cooking robots, and driving sales to support our growth objectives. The Sales Lead will be responsible for managing the sales cycle (from lead generation to deal closure) and working closely with our marketing and operations teams to refine our strategies and achieve our revenue goals.

The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented and comfortable working in a small team, with a proven ability to close deals and a desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify, develop, and manage a pipeline of leads within the US restaurant and foodservice industry.
  2. Conduct sales meetings, deliver presentations, and lead product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  3. Create and customize sales materials, proposals, and presentations to address client needs.
  4. Maintain detailed records of leads, sales activities, and client interactions.
  5. Provide regular sales performance updates and forecasts to leadership.
  6. Work closely with US and Tokyo-based teams to align sales strategies and improve outreach initiatives, including the marketing team.
  7. Build long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and exploring upsell opportunities.
  8. Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market opportunities to enhance sales tactics.

Required Qualifications

  1. 3 or more years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field
  2. Proven track record of generating and converting leads into clients
  3. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  4. Self-motivated, coachable, and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
  5. Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking processes
  6. Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with broader team goals
  7. College degree

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in the food service or kitchen equipment industry.
  2. Familiarity with international or cross-cultural team collaboration.
  3. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary: $80,000 base salary with performance-based commission capped at $20,000 annually
