About the role and your impact:
HRBP:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s needs and future direction in order to ensure business decisions take the employee experience into account.
- Participate in cross-functional work groups to gain and offer HR insight on business and operational challenges.
- Counsel management on leadership expectations, organizational development, talent management, and communication.
HR Policies and Compliance:
- Serve as the main point of contact, providing guidance to all employees within the organization, including Executives, and to relevant 3rd Party Administrators for all HR, Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll related inquiries, policies and related training.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and company policies.
- Oversee Employee Benefit Administration, including open enrollment.
- Stay up-to-date on labor laws, compliance requirements, and industry trends.
- Maintain HR data and generate reports for analysis.
- Create and Maintain Employee Handbooks and related HR Policies and Procedures.
- Proactively mitigate risks to the company with a clear understanding of HR employment laws and best practices in CA.
- Ensure HR practices align with legal standards and make research and data-driven recommendations for HR improvements.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as subject matter expert on employee relations; investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues and administer HR policies and practices.
- Act as an employee advocate, while balancing business needs and requirements.
- Provide coaching & feedback to employees across the organization on how to improve individual performance.
- Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and claims.
- Provide coaching to managers regarding all employee relations issues and related steps including process improvements.
Talent Acquisition and Employee Life Cycle:
- Manage talent acquisition process, including recruitment, screening and interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
- Create and maintain company job descriptions, manage postings and review applications.
- Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Conduct Exit Interviews.
Payroll:
- Run Bi-Weekly Payroll
- Ensure correct adjustments of payroll transactions, including entry of new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates, benefits and garnishments.
- Implement, maintain, and review new payroll processing systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or relevant field
- 5+ years of human resources experience
- HR certification (SHRM/PHR)
- Strong understanding of HR compliance
- Prior payroll experience or understanding of payroll processes
- Proficiency with MS Office (including Excel)
