Head of Mining Operations


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position requires hands-on experience and is responsible for all aspects related to the mining operations of the company.
  • Oversee both management partners and any directly operated mining sites  to maximize efficiency, profitability and capability
  • Direct and optimize all operations of mining facilities, owned and co-located to ensure performance, availability, and security.
  • Partner with third parties site managers ensuring site optimization and contractual compliance for site management. 
  • Oversee the development/buildout of new mining facilities within capital and budgetary constraints to ensure timely availability of new mining capacity. Focuses on leveraging renewable and sustainable energy sources
  • Optimize existing mining operations through continuous improvement of processes and technologies.
  • Works cross-functionally to develop miner strategy (#, type, ownership) for company that will optimize profitability
  • Coordinate with outside teams to identify and implement new products, technologies and systems to support existing and future business needs.
  • Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
  • Ensure operational compliance with all regulatory requirements and environmental standards with a focus on safety and quality across all mining operations..
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and operational performance against business goals.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align operational strategies with corporate objectives.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key vendors, technology providers, and energy suppliers.
  • Lead, and mentor the operations team to support growth and operational excellence.


Position Requirements 

Bachelor's Degree preferably in Operations Management or related field

 

Experience/skills/abilities

  • 5-7 years progressive experience in operations management, data center management or cryptocurrency mining. Preferably has direct experience in cryptocurrency mining.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising the building and development of data center/mining operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to make recommendations and use sound business judgment in resolving issues consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures and regulations established by the Company. 
  • Must be flexible, have high energy, be able to work independently on complex assignments and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities where short deadlines are the norm.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and facilitate change
  • Ability to influence and implement change across departmental boundaries.
  • Integrity;  honesty, trustworthy and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated communication skills; strong negotiator; effectively utilizes techniques to sell, influence, and gain support for recommended programs. Strong presentation skills.
