Role Summary

The Head of Supply Chain Operations will oversee and refine the complete supply chain and demand planning process, encompassing forecasting, procurement, and distribution. This position requires strategic oversight, implementation, and ongoing enhancement within an outsourced manufacturing framework, focusing on boosting operational efficiency, minimizing costs, and ensuring prompt product delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Direct all aspects of contract manufacturing management, purchasing, forecasting, order and production planning, product costing, Tier 2 supplier management, Vendor Managed Inventory strategies, inventory oversight, warehousing, and product delivery.
  • Strategic Development: Formulate and execute supply chain strategies that align with corporate metrics and objectives to foster growth and profitability.
  • Process Improvement: Identify avenues for enhancing processes and reducing material costs.
  • Demand Planning: Collaborate with Sales and Finance to establish a robust demand planning process.
  • Supplier Relations: Maintain comprehensive ownership of contract manufacturing partnerships and cultivate relationships with key supply chain partners.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with core suppliers, including Vendor Managed Inventory agreements.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory and ethical standards related to procurement.
  • Forecasting: Supervise demand forecasting and factory planning to meet customer order fulfillment expectations.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Implement best practices in supply chain management to enhance supply continuity and reduce costs.
  • Logistics Management: Oversee domestic and international logistics operations, optimizing distribution and order fulfillment processes.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing supply chain and planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supply chain performance and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex supply chain and planning processes.
  • Established leader with a broad network of supply base partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain software.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and procurement.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in navigating the growth phases of a company from start-up to production.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's or MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in purchasing, planning, and contract manufacturing management.
  • 10 years of direct experience in complex electro-mechanical product manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing large teams.
