The Curriculum Coordinator supports the extended learning programs with the implementation of inquiry-based and targeted tutoring models, including evidence-based instructional strategies based upon students’ strengths, challenges, gaps in skills and knowledge, learning styles and performance levels. The person in this role provides support to teachers by helping create and revise materials used in the classroom. The Curriculum Coordinator analyzes student data to assess and improve student outcomes and ensure curriculum is implemented with fidelity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in the implementation of inquiry-based curriculum framework and resources, and targeted tutoring content and protocols in collaboration with program administrator.
  • Work closely with teachers to support outstanding instruction (e.g., coaching, lesson modeling, lesson observation/feedback, collaborative lesson planning)
  • Analyze data to support teachers in developing individualized learning plans, inform instruction, and monitor program quality.
  • To ensure alignment with the EnCompass model, conduct observations in collaboration with program administrator. Provide timely and constructive feedback.
  • Monitor student academic goals, STAR reading growth and assist with strategies to reach goals as needed.
  • Meet with and provide guidance to teachers struggling with inquiry-based/project-based learning and targeted tutoring implementation (prioritize fidelity with the EnCompass model)
  • Collaborate with administrator and site coordinator to analyze data and identify areas for improvement in instructional practices, program delivery, and professional development.
  • Participate in enrichment, field trip and cultural activities, when applicable
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure student and staff safety. Supervise students during structured and unstructured times, including transitions, free time, and bus duty.
  • Support with facilitation of orientation, professional development, staff meetings, and family events.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

  • Familiarity with current research in learning development, educational practice, and learning differences
  • Ability to teach using a strengths-based, learner-focused model and strategies to support students who struggle to learn

  • Excellent judgment and student-centered mindset

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Smartboard technology and online platforms

Qualifications:

  • Minimum
    • Bachelor’s Degree in education or relevant field
  • Preferred
    • NYS teaching certification
    • Master’s Degree in education or relevant field
    • Teaching and/or instructional coaching experience

Salary:

$33.53/hour

Scheduling:

  • Hours will vary by need.
