This role is pivotal in leading and coordinating various educational initiatives aimed at enhancing youth development. The individual will work closely with program staff and volunteers to ensure the successful execution of all program components.

Reports To: Senior Program Coordinator of Youth Education & Development
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team for all components of the program, supporting staff and volunteers in effective program delivery.
- Design and execute weekly afterschool and summer sessions in alignment with funder guidelines.
- Engage with students in their educational settings as necessary.
- Facilitate workshops on post-secondary success and provide financial aid guidance to prepare students for future endeavors.
- Create, organize, and promote interdisciplinary activities that offer authentic learning experiences.
- Coordinate cultural diversity events, field trips, and workshops to enhance literacy and numeracy skills.
- Implement the Project Ready 2.0 and STEAM curriculum, crafting daily lesson plans and leading afterschool group sessions.
- Develop personalized College Preparation Plans for each participant, regularly reviewing and updating them as needed.
- Provide case management and counseling to address the needs of youth and their families.
- Conduct assessments and track participant outcomes to ensure program effectiveness.
- Monitor program progress under the guidance of the Program Coordinator, making necessary adjustments to meet goals.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to demonstrate successful program outcomes.
- Participate in required webinars, training sessions, and events organized by relevant agencies.
- Engage in training and orientation to enhance program operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Support events and fundraising activities organized by the Urban League of Rochester.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, STEAM, counseling, human services, social work, or a related field is required.
- Experience in educational settings, particularly with youth and STEAM curriculum, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with online platforms such as Zoom and Google Classroom is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to present and lead training sessions effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to connect with and understand the challenges faced by minority and underrepresented youth.
- Proven teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of community resources available for youth and families is beneficial.
- Capability to interact with external stakeholders and community partners.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including some weekends.
- Access to reliable transportation is required.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Compensation:
$22.25/hr
