2024 Seasonal Analyst (Contract)

A progressive Washington, DC research firm is seeking seasonal analysts to join our research pods for the 2024 election cycle. This position starts as early as June 2024 and ends by December 2024. This is a 1099 contractor role.  
 

The seasonal analyst conducts qualitative and quantitative research within a designated portfolio. The seasonal analyst is a researcher who can think critically and deliver accurate & visually compelling data that meet client objectives. A seasonal analyst thrives in this role if they have managed complex client-facing interactions, have a personal commitment to high standards and maintain cultural competency. 


Due to the fast-paced nature of the election cycle, candidates must have flexibility to work non-traditional hours during the election cycle. We work closely with high-profile political organizations and candidates, so interest and understanding of electoral politics, social activism, and advocacy work is required. 

 

Key Objectives 

  • Drive accurate, high-quality, culturally competent analysis of behaviors, attitudes, values, and other drivers within research populations  
  • Engage clients in providing specialized guidance and consultation that allows clients to achieve their objectives and goals 
  • Drive research design, data collection, analysis, and consulting 

 

Scope of Work 

  • Draft public opinion surveys for a variety of research audiences, including determining appropriate questions, developing polls and screeners, composing moderator and research guides for qualitative research 
  • Monitor survey response partial data, mid-project, and reporting up progress, notifying concerns, and managing adjustments with sub-contractors 
  • Analyze completed data and present it to clients with strategic analysis in a visually compelling way.  
  • Write and produce visually compelling and accurate analytical reports including statistical facts, key data trends, and critical insights pertinent to client objectives and outcomes  
  • Manage client’s timeline and project objectives and goals, helping define the scope of work with guiding questions 
  • Initiating polls and conducting focus groups  
  • Develop analytical proof points by marking up and extracting quotes from focus group transcripts  
  • Review and approve data products, including cross tabs, toplines, dashboards, and analytical reports  
  • Produce and deliver snapshot briefs for clients ahead of final analysis and reports  
  • Ensuring that clients within your portfolio receive their final products 
  • Define, propose, and extract survey samples from various database sources and coordinate delivery to data collection sub-contractors 

 

Qualifications   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Marketing, Mass Communications, Economics, Statistics, Humanities, or a related concentration 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially succinct and concise reporting 
  • 1 years of previous work experience in a related field, including a focus on corporate and advocacy research
  • Previous experience managing vendors progress and interacting with clients for product delivery 
  • Ability to coordinate work timing and sequencing with other researchers efficiently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours when the project or client need necessitates 
  • Ability to produce a variety of high-quality analysis and presentations as demonstrated by a portfolio of work samples 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – especially Excel and PowerPoint 


Contractual Pay 

  • The monthly contractual pay rate is between $4,000 - $4,500
