The Operations Research Analyst provides advanced analytics, modeling, and simulation capabilities that enable Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) leaders to assess and understand complex or sensitive issues, develop solutions, and make data-driven decisions that support investment and transformation efforts.
This position starts at a salary of $117,962.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $181,216 (GS-14 Step 10).
Typical work responsibilities include:
Designing advanced analytical methods to study possible solutions to problem areas, building, or overseeing the building of analytical models, applying the models in analyses and studies, interpreting and evaluating the results and making recommendations to high level decision makers
Preparing reports describing and supporting the findings of analytical studies, and making recommendations to the senior analysts and management
Applying accepted approaches and techniques from operations research,systems analysis, acquisition test and
evaluation analysis, economic analysis, and cost analysis methods and procedures to proposed on-going studies and analysis within CBP, OF and the Investment Analysis Office (IAO)
