Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is one of the largest orthopedic practices in the country. We are expanding and we are looking for individuals that would like to be a part of our growing Human Resources TEAM TOA concentrates on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and injuries of the musculoskeletal system which allow our patients to live their best lives. Our practice includes all the clinical elements of a top-notch orthopedic practice, including ancillary services, revenue cycle, and all the supporting administrative functionality.


The Human Resources Generalist will report directly to the Regional Director of Human Resources and will become an important contributor to our high functioning team. In this highly transactional role, you can expect daily interactions with payroll, clinic operations, ancillary services, revenue cycle, and administration teams.


Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Regional Director of Human Resources, the primary responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist include Benefit Administration, Leave Management, Employee Relations, New Hire Orientation, HR Compliance, HR Project support, and Employee Engagement and Retention.


Specifically, here is what the Human Resources Generalist will be accomplishing:

  • Alignment with Organizational Objectives and Culture. First and foremost, all members of the HR Team, including the Human Resources Generalist must be able to align with the organizational objectives of Patient Access, Patient Satisfaction, and Employee Engagement. This includes a strong link to the cultural elements of patient focus and emphasizing a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Benefits. Under the direction of the Regional Director of HR, the HR Generalist will be responsible for partnering with TPA benefit teams and partners to provide support and advocacy effectively and efficiently to our team members in all areas of benefit administration and service.
  • Leave Management. Manage the full cycle of time away from work and leave administration. This will include coordinating and documenting leave requests such as FMLA, PWFA, ADA, Personal Leave and other leaves of absence.
  • Employee Relations. With guidance from the Regional HR Director, may advise, coach and support managers and supervisors on employee relations issues. May recommend and/or assist in creating corrective action plans, delivering disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • Promote fair and equal treatment, positive employee relations and ensure compliance with organizational handbook, policies, and protocol, and with state and federal employment laws.
  • Performance Management. Will provide support for the TOA Performance Management process, including regular and ad-hoc initiatives to ensure high performing teammates.
  • HRIS. Work extensively within the HRIS to create and provide ad-hoc reports to the Regional HR Director and other members of leadership.
  • HR Projects. Will provide administrative support to HR Leadership with HR projects such as Benefits, Employee Handbook, HR Dashboard, Staffing Plan, Manager Training, Engagement Initiatives, and others as assigned.
  • Additional Responsibilities. Other responsibilities assigned to the Human Resources Generalist may include providing support/coverage/direction in the areas of recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, HR metrics, HRIS system maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

    • Must have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to make connections across the organization; collaborating with employees and managers in multiple locations.
    • Must have the ability to work independently, focusing on achieving organizational goals and tasks with drive and energy to succeed.

Educational requirements: Minimum 5-years progressive experience in the field of Human Resources. A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in HR is preferred. Must hold current active HR certification. Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

*Must have reliable transportation to travel between clinics as needed. This position is on-site daily.
