Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Quality Engineer’s focus is on improving the quality and manufacturing process thereby increasing the Company’s output. This leadership role develops systems and methods in Quality as it interfaces with other business departments and customers. The Quality Engineer ensures that the company’s Quality Policy and procedures are implemented and that the requirements of AS 9100 as well as other industry standards are maintained. The Quality Engineer reports to the VP of Engineering/Deputy Quality Systems Management Rep.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops & approves inspection methods (plans) to Inspect parts & analyze product quality.
  • Participates in review & analysis of QSys compliance to Customer PO Quality related flow downs.
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change.
  • Proactively recommend solutions to inspection tasks to improve our ability to meet customer requirements & provide technical support (i.e. Dwg GDT’s & use of CMM).
  • Assist Auditor or inspector with proper documentation of results and findings following Internal Quality Audits and/or inspections as needed.
  • Assist process owner (relevant Mgr/Supervisor) with proper documentation of CAR (RCCA) associated with findings following Internal Quality Audits or inspectors Rejection Report as needed
  • Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy.
  • Participate in developing, reviewing or maintaining of company AS9102 FAI’s and Final inspection plans as required.
  • Oversite of Inspection methods according to engineering/quality requirements.
  • Managing (coordination) of customer RMA’s, internal rejections, and associated CAR’s with MRB Team.
  • Participate as member of Material Review Board and Corrective Action Board process.
  • Reporting quality anomalies to management.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in quality control processes.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate & develop techniques for the control of quality & improvement of efficiencies & reliability.
  • Works with personnel at all levels to solve routine and special issues.
  • Participate in the implementation of company Quality Management
  • Oversite of final acceptance testing and release for shipments of all product.
  • Participate in the auditing and setting of metrics for the company as required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree Master’s Degree in Engineering or Quality Preferred
  • Certifications in AS 9100 Quality Standards a plus.
  • 10+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a quality assurance environment is required.
  • Experience generating documentation for Advanced Planning Quality Programs (APQP) such as PFMEA’s, MPR’s etc.
  • Proficiency in computer technology and Coordinate Measuring Systems operation.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Vision and Charting.
