Williams Mullen is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Talent Management Coordinator to provide support for all aspects of firm-wide talent management, which encompasses attorney recruiting, attorney professional development, and firm-wide diversity & inclusion. The position is based in our Richmond office.

The position will report to the Director of Attorney Development & Inclusion and the Director of Legal Recruiting, who together, lead the firm’s Talent Management Department. The position will also support the following three team members: the Lead Coordinator of Attorney Development & Inclusion; the Attorney Recruiter; and the Attorney Recruiting Operations Analyst.

General Responsibilities

  • Monitors department’s accounting and expenses, coordinates with Accounting Department for check requests and reimbursements, and assists Directors as needed on budget oversight.
  • Manages all Talent Management inboxes, clears emails as appropriate, responds to messages as appropriate, and keeps relevant department members apprised of messages that require their attention and response.
  • Manages all Talent Management calendars and assists with event coordination. Anticipates calendar & propose event plans to Directors. Registers for events as needed. Coordinates details of events (materials, food orders, materials, etc.) and helps communicate details to attendees.

Development & Inclusion Responsibilities (with AD&I Director and Lead Coordinator)

  • Assists with organization and execution of attorney professional development programs and firm-wide D&I programs.
  • Supports associate evaluation process, including management of evaluation database and organizing and distribution of pertinent information to evaluators and reviewers.
  • Supports entry-level associate orientation, extended training, and integration process.
  • Maintains, audits, updates, and organizes the firm’s CLE platform, Practicing Law Institute (PLI). Organizes group CLE viewings of PLI programs, keeps track of attendance, and helps attorneys claim credit.
  • Assists Lead Coordinator with firm-wide CLE programs and CLE compliance.
  • Assists Lead Coordinator with dues for state bars and professional organizations. Maintains rosters and coordinates bulk payments.
  • Administratively supports firm committees. Schedules meetings, attends, takes notes, circulates action items, and helps track progress along strategic plans.

Legal Recruiting Responsibilities (with Recruiting Director, Recruiter, and Analyst)

  • Supports law school engagement with on campus event preparation and execution.
  • Assists with 1L and 2L student recruiting and interviewing process. Prepares OCI binders, schedules callbacks, compiles interviewer materials, and updates applicant data files.
  • Administratively supports the planning and execution of the Summer Associate Program across all offices with an emphasis on providing an exceptional experience for students and attorneys.
  • Monitors lateral applicants, provides timely notifications to recruiting team, and updates status for records. Coordinates interview scheduling and calendaring of lateral interviews. Tracks interviewer evaluations.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree
  • Superior time management and organizational skills that enable ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment and manage several simultaneous projects with multiple people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills with the following applications preferred: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), iManage, and employee recruiting and performance talent management software systems (e.g., viGlobal)
