Your day as a Human Resources Technician

As a Full Time Human Resources Technician at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to our applicants, employees and visitors. You will have the opportunity to greet and assist visitors in a warm and professional manner, ensuring they feel welcome. Your responsibilities will include providing assistance to Human Resources related inquires, processing mail, and preparing reports with precision. Handling confidential employee data with care and accuracy, you will maintain filing systems, and input information into HRIS systems.

Would you be a great Human Resources Technician?

To excel as a Full Time Human Resources Technician at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must possess essential customer service skills. Proficiency in various software (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential, along with at least one year of administrative support experience in a Human Resources office. The ability to handle employment records with accuracy and discretion, maintain confidentiality in all tasks, and engage professionally with the public and employees are integral to success in this role.

Strong computer skills are a must to efficiently navigate HRIS and ATS systems and manage department filing systems. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding confidentiality are key qualities we are seeking in potential candidates for this position.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • One (1) year of administrative support experience in a Human Resources office including the processing of employment records ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and public/employee contact. Strong computer skills required.
