Summary

 

The Training and Volunteer Program Coordinator will develop, coordinate and maintain the volunteer program and the initial Advocate Core Training (ACT).  Assist with ongoing direct service training, as assigned. Execute outreach and training in the community to service providers and community members.

 

Also, this job will be to build relationships with businesses, organizations, and people in the community to recruit volunteers and interns as well as prepare them for service. You’ll also help develop campaigns to get the word out about volunteer and internship opportunities.

 

Another core part of the role will involve the responsibilities of a recruiter. This includes identifying future hiring needs, designing job descriptions, sourcing candidates through databases and social media, conducting interviews, filing paperwork, and keeping abreast of employment law and legislation.

 

 

Responsibilities


Organize and implement initial SafePlace Advocate Core Training (ACT) for volunteers, new employees, Board members, and for paying community members

  1. Developing a training schedule
  2. Complying with required certified accreditation training curriculum
  3. Ensure a completed attendance record is maintained


Volunteer and Intern Coordinator

  1. Ensure volunteers and interns track their general activities and submit hours-worked monthly for grants purposes.
  2. Identify and implement strategies to strengthen SafePlace’s Volunteer and Internship programs
  3. Maintain regular volunteer and Intern contact and provide support, assistance, direction, feedback and motivation
  4. Support program managers and directors in maintaining and active volunteer and internship base to enhance their experience


Assist with Overall Organizational Recruiting Process

  1. Work with SafePlace managers and directors to develop recruitment strategies that enhance diversity
  2. Create and distribute outreach recruitment materials.
  3. Attend recruitment and outreach events and meetings as needed

 

Drive the planning and implementation of In-House Training for SafePlace staff

  1. Work with the program managers, leads and organizational directors on organizing a Leadership & Belonging, Justice, Equity Diversity and Inclusion (BJEDI) learning program strategy
  2. Coordinate industry-specific professional development strategy for all non-supervisory staff

 


Preferred Qualifications


  • Proven ability to organize facilitate small and large group presentations, seminars and workshops
  • Two years of human resources recruiting experience in the non-profit or higher education arenas
  • Knowledge of providing services in domestic violence and/or sexual assault program, crisis intervention, or prevention
  • One year experience in of human resources Training & Development strategy development and delivery
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to handle detailed work
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to understand and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Have car and current automobile liability insurance and valid driver’s license
