Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOVERVIEW:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the quality management system, inspection and testing of all CAI parts for defects and deviations according to specifications, including parts manufactured internally, those assembled internally, and those received from outside vendors. This position is also responsible for directing the QC Inspectors daily.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality Manager is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Quality Management System across multiple sites.
  • Prepare and conduct Management Review.
  • Conduct document review, internal audits and management reviews.
  • Manage the calibration program ensuring all tools are calibrated.
  • Coordinate with customer First Article Inspection Report (AS9102) and Source Inspection.
  • Providing guidance and leadership to all QC personnel.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure goals are met and alignment between departments.
  • Manager and monitor the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process.
  • Manager and monitor the NCR outcome, root cause and corrective actions.
  • Prepare overall company and each site as needed for Customer and SQA audit.
  • Ensure parts are inspected to applicable standards, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Train subordinates & new-hires to ensure best-practices are maintained in company culture.
  • Maintain required attendance and punctuality as scheduled to meet production goals.
  • Oversee the flow of product through his/her area of responsibility.
  • Delivers operational excellence through focused and quality performance
  • Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering on supplier audits evaluation.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess working knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments, gages, and hand tools.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with ISO 9001/ AS 9100.
  • Certified AS9100 Internal Auditor (preferable)
  • Experience Completing AS9102 form. (preferable)
  • Experience completing FAIR on Net-inspect. (preferable)
  • Verify first article pieces and generate FAI reports, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

The Quality Manager must at a minimum possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience (five plus years) as an Inspector in a manufacturing setting is preferred. Two plus years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Completion of Certified Quality Inspector certification is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to liaise professionally with team members and system users.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks with moderate supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cognitive skills to include the ability to learn, to process thoughts and apply knowledge, to analyze and reason, and to evaluate and make appropriate decisions to achieve business goals and solve problems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Quality Manager must be able to:

  • Operate basic office machines, such as a computer, copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.
  • Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment. (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.
  • Work in a standing / sitting environment; up to 8-12 hours a day.
