Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Reports To: General Manager

Pay Class: Exempt; Salary

The Big Task

We are looking for a Human Resource Generalist who will serve as the primary point of contact for all aspects of Human Resource management. The role involves developing and implementing HR policies, programs, and initiatives to support the company’s goals, foster a positive work environment, and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. The role also involves running payroll through ADP Workforce Now every week.

Key Sub Tasks

  • Main point of contact for employees on all HR related inquiries.
  • Running payroll on a weekly basis via ADP Workforce Now.
  • Day-to-day operations of all Service Plus benefit administration. Maintains effective communication with management and employees on all benefit matters. Ensures all benefit-related processes (e.g. enrollment, document delivery, etc.) are executed in full compliance.
  • Deliver people analytics and insight on key people KPIs on a regular basis (e.g. turnover, time to fill, training pipeline etc.).
  • Assists the Controller with special projects related to a broad range of HR topics including but not limited to employee engagement and learning & development.
  • Track and report on employee attendance and paid time off.
  • Coordinate with leadership on the development and implementation of HR policies and procedure; maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions, while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Lead the performance management appraisal process, providing guidance to managers and employees, and contributing talent development and retention efforts.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Keeps abreast of changes in HR law to continue to maintain compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated progressive experience (5+ years) in human resources, to include generalist experience preferably in skilled trades or comparable industries
  • Experience with benefits administration and HRIS systems required (ADP Workforce Now experience preferred)
  • Ability to create, maintain and communicate project plans to leadership and other stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally, and in writing
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
  • Comfortable making level appropriate decisions independently
  • Ability to manage a wide range of relationships with a variety of stakeholders

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related filed or 5+ years HR Generalist experience.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
  • Manual dexterity required to use computers and general office equipment
