POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the General Counsel and Corporate Counsel, the successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and have a passion and interest in corporate law. The position involves administrative support to in-house counsel while also assisting attorneys in preparing complex documents and tracking documents. Assists in-house counsel with a range of legal support, including investigations and research, to resolve legal and related issues. Creates records of highly sensitive matters, organizes files and records, prepares correspondence, annotates documents and files, and coordinates related meetings, calendars, and schedules. Manages policies and procedures for key processes including program integrity, ethics and discipline matters, administrative appeals, and requests for testing accommodations. Provides administrative support as lead staff member assisting two committees comprised of outside subject matter experts. This position requires discretion, judgement, tact, and poise, as well as a broad range of skills relating to the investigation and management of candidate disciplinary and test integrity matters.

This position includes the opportunity to obtain paralegal training and certification and may be suitable for recent college graduates intending to apply to law school.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Investigate and coordinate administrative cases involving test integrity and disciplinary matters

  • Use discretion and independent judgement to conduct extensive fact-gathering interviews related to administrative cases involving certificants, testing personnel, and other program participants
  • Draft correspondence regarding administrative cases involving violations of policies
  • Draft investigative reports relating to test integrity and ethical matters
  • Provide staff support to the Ethics & Discipline Committee
  • Coordinate staff meetings of the Program Integrity Team
  • Coordinate with outside subject matter experts on the Ethics & Discipline Committee
  • Prepare presentations regarding test security and program integrity matters
  • Manage internal tracking of test security & program integrity matters

B. Support and coordinate administrative appeals

  • Draft correspondence regarding administrative appeals of staff decisions
  • Draft reports relating to administrative appeal requests
  • Prepare presentations relating to administrative appeals
  • Coordinate with outside subject matter experts on the Administrative Appeals Committee
  • Manage internal tracking of administrative appeal matters

C. Support, process, and coordinate applications for testing accommodations

  • Understand the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related federal laws and regulations
  • Review, analyze, and process applications for testing accommodations
  • Draft correspondence regarding testing accommodation applications
  • Work with outside expert consultants
  • Prepare presentations regarding testing accommodations
  • Manage internal tracking of testing accommodations

D. Other duties as appropriate and assigned

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

Expected Work Hours:

Regular days/hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
