Job Summary

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, payroll, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Ensure consistent, legal and fair enhancement of all company policies and government regulations in areas of labor, employee relations, EEOC, and NLRB charges.


Human resource leader will develop and manage our company’s diverse culture. Recruit new hires, consult with management on strategic planning and serve as a link between management and its team members. Also maintained benefits and payroll, mediate conflict and engage in training and development.


Human resource leader will plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative functions of our organization. He/she will need to handle several areas and tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Manages, and organizes annual employee evaluations and recognition programs.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Builds, maintains, and manages positive employee relationships by fostering up open lines of communication between staff and management.
  • Creates and manages learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Develops, and executes communication strategies for new policies and procedures to non-union and union employees using targeted mechanisms including classroom presentations, personal outreach, and email.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Manages, investigates, and resolves worker’s compensation, harassment and discrimination claims as well as EEOC and NLRB charges and prepare responses to charges.
  • Provides extensive Labor Relations to investigate and resolve union and non-union employee grievances, communicate and reiterate company policies to members of management, and administer disciplinary or termination decisions according to consistent policies and procedures.
  • Councils union and non-union employees on benefit entitlement under FMLA, COBRA, and personal time off.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration Management, or related field required.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of human resource experience preferred.
  • SHRM certification (preferred)
