Summary:

The Operations Manager oversees daily warehouse activities, focusing on labor scheduling, supervision, and efficient use of space and equipment. Key responsibilities include staffing, managing warehouse operations, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, and maintaining facility safety and sanitation.

Salary range: $85,000 to $95,000, depending on experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directing all operational aspects of assigned departments & processes.
  • Collaborates with other management staff to ensure effective communication and cooperation across all levels of the organization.
  • Planning, monitoring, and managing actual performance against operational portions of the budget; this includes, but is not limited to, proper management of departmental staffing levels and overtime.
  • Assuring the attainment of facility operational goals & objectives for assigned departments & processes through direction of staff & management of processes.
  • Support the attainment of facility operational goals & objectives for all departments & processes through collaboration.
  • Leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing supervisory staff and associates on job functions/procedures to achieve business objectives including process accuracy and personnel productivity.
  • Effective management of outbound processes and order flow to ensure timely shipment of customer orders.
  • Effective management of inbound, cycle count, and replenishment processes to ensure accuracy and availability of inventory for customer order fulfillment.
  • Monitoring and managing key metrics relating to outbound shipments including internal process accuracy and external customer order accuracy.
  • Management of assigned department activities to ensure operational aspects of policies and procedures are upheld.
  • Coordinate and lead internal audits to ensure operational aspects of policies and procedures are upheld for all departments.
  • Knowing and evaluating operational productivity goals and monitoring daily results to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Implementing process improvement programs utilizing Lean/ Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Leading operational initiatives to ensure assigned department objectives are met.
  • Coordinate and support operational initiatives to ensure all department objectives are met.
  • Aiding Sr and Executive Leadership on special projects as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s or 3 years with a Master’s degree plus 5 years of lead/supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record of effective management of people, processes, and projects is required.
  • Extensive Manhattan SCALE and NetSuite knowledge are a plus.
  • Familiarity with general WMS setup & configurations, such as pick priorities, user permissions, and work grouping are a plus.
  • Strong written communication and verbal skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, establish department/discipline goals and objectives for self and staff.
  • Computer literacy required; including advanced skills in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and eager to succeed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and mentor a team.
  • Interviewing, selecting, and training employees.
  • Performance evaluations.
