Position: Case Manager II-III Intercept Team [1356]

Program: Amarillo, Texas – Intercept Team

Salary range:

Case Manager II: $43,305.60 Annually

Case Manager III: $46,009.60 Annually

Shift available: Full-time

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • This position works as an integral member of the Intercept Team, a co-responder unit with law enforcement
  • This position will work alongside the Amarillo Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Randall County Sheriff's Office CIT, and Potter County Sheriff's Office CIT as they respond to behavioral health calls in the City of Amarillo and respective counties
  • Psychosocial rehabilitation services are provided to an intensive caseload to address symptom-related problems that interfere with the individual’s functioning in the community
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to: crisis intervention and prevention, routine case management, assessment, coordination of services, linking to other resources, monitoring of symptoms, and recovery planning
  • The Intercept Team conducts field evaluations to determine treatment options. Options include but are not limited to: hospitalization, outpatient, substance use treatment, diversion, and shelter options
  • Services will be offered and conducted in a variety of community and clinical settings, and will aim to reduce recidivism in hospital and jail settings
  • Routine wellness checks for individuals with behavioral health conditions will be conducted to engage with, provide access to care, and evaluate other needs the person has that could contribute to crisis episodes
  • Team members will engage with, refer to, and receive referrals from other grant partners based in the community. Other grant partners include: Family Support Services and Regence Health Network
  • Further, team members will work closely with inter-agency programs such as the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team and Diversion Center Team
  • This program targets adults age 18 and above but will link family members to behavioral health services if under the age of 18
  • All members in the Intercept Team will be trained in accordance with the City of Amarillo and TPC standards
  • Scheduling is flexible but adheres to peak hours in which behavioral health calls are placed to the police department
  • Adheres to the TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised

Required qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, or other related human services field for QMHP credentialing
  • For Case Manager II, one (1) year experience of behavioral health case management
  • For Case Manager III, two (2) years experience of behavioral health case management
  • Graduate work in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of experience
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • Bilingual
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a mental health field and one (1) years of Behavioral Health Case Management Experience in a community mental health setting
  • Have an LPC or LCSW license in the State of Texas
  • Qualify as an LPHA in good standing in the State of Texas
