Job Summary: The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources operations within IFS, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, implementing effective HR policies and procedures, and fostering a positive work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruitment and retention, employee relations, payroll, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and other HR functions. This position reports directly to the CEO. The HR Manager will split time between our Washington DC office and Annapolis Junction Office. This position is onsite.


Key Responsibilities:


Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manage the full recruitment life cycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Address employee relations issues promptly and effectively, promoting a positive work culture and resolving conflicts as they arise.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances and recommend appropriate solutions.

Performance Management:

  • Develop and implement performance management systems to monitor employee performance and productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees on their performance.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance employee performance and development.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs within the organization and develop training programs to address those needs.
  • Coordinate employee training and development initiatives, including orientation programs, skills development workshops, and leadership training.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, including payroll, insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards related to compensation and benefits.
  • Review and analyze compensation data to ensure competitiveness and fairness.

HR Policies and Procedures:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Communicate HR policies and procedures to employees and ensure understanding and adherence.
  • Update policies and procedures as needed to reflect changes in laws, regulations, or company needs.



Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR software applications. Paylocity experience preferred.
