Position: Human Resources Manager (ONSITE)

Annual Salary: $80,000

Position Overview: Reporting to the President, The Human Resource Manager leads and directs HR practices and objectives that supports an employee-oriented, high-performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce in a family-oriented culture. In addition, the HR Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of the Human Resource function and strategic company goals.

Weekly Responsibilities - 50%

  • Provide support and guidance to management and team leads when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise. Including leading internal investigations, providing information on company policies, providing resources on leave options and reasonable accommodations when applicable, participating in unemployment hearings, managing any workers compensation claims and OSHA reports with the assistance of Safety and Security Manager, etc.
  • Handle the organization's payroll functions and all payroll communication, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure 401k compliance in payroll process. Assist managers and employees by answering timecard, payroll, and benefits questions, and resolving concerns.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of qualified applicants; collaborating with Managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Send weekly communications to coworkers regarding new and leaving coworkers, company events, company goals, payroll updates such as holidays, and all other pertinent information to all coworkers.
  • Participate in Tactical Meetings with executive team. Create and assist with organizational strategic goals.

Monthly Responsibilities- 40%

  • Handle all communications and functions of onboarding new employees including announcements, scheduling, training, etc.
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures. Use SHRM resources to maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Review all Performance Evaluations to ensure they match job descriptions and production targets with management. Assist managers with detailing performance development plans; support and advise Managers/Team Leads regarding employee issues, assist with growth plans & performance documents.
  • Attend the monthly Safety committee meetings.
  • Review benefit vendor/contract billing; benefit participation, COBRA, and flexible spending.
  • Plan and prepare monthly employee engagement events, including cookouts, treats, awards.
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities by scheduling management conferences, resolving employee concerns, training managers and team leads in employee coaching/discipline, and counseling employees and supervisors. Trainings including annual townhalls, Open Enrollment and Handbook Training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Annual Responsibilities - 10%

  • Complete 1095-C, EEO-1 and OSHA reports annually
  • Benefit annual enrollment communications and processing.
  • Ensure annual payroll end of year reporting and compliance.
  • Preparation and participation in audits; payroll, workers comp, 401k and/or support.
  • Ensure all legal postings are current and properly placed throughout the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of human resources, recruiting and benefit administration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or similar required.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the executive management team that provides company leadership and direction.
  • Requires Excellent verbal, written communication, and coaching abilities - essential to the position.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a timely, independent and confidential manner
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit; ability to complete projects from problem identification to solution implementation.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.
  • Experience in a small/medium size manufacturing business preferred.
  • Reliable and punctual; shows up for all scheduled work shifts. Ability to work additional hours as necessary during peak times.

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements:

  • May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling
  • Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 15 lbs.)
  • Finger dexterity and both gross and fine manipulation
  • Comprehension of training forms such as Standard Operating Procedures
