Job Purpose:

To provide fundraising support for the efficient New Birth of Freedom Council operations in our Mechanicsburg office.


Job Purpose:

To provide administrative support for the New Birth of Freedom Council’s overall fundraising and development efforts in our Mechanicsburg Service Center.


Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Council’s various fundraising and development efforts, with day-to-day responsibility for processing contributions in our Blackbaud database and providing administrative support to the Director of Development. All support staff members are cross-trained to performseveral vital administrative functions, including processing transactions with customers that come to our service center (using a point-of-sale register system), data entry for membership, background checks, etc.

Provides general services such as answering phone calls and emails, filing, mailings, printing, and copying.


Essential Functions:

  • Maintaining an accurate donor database, including data entry, gift processing, receipts, and generating reports.
  • Maintains all individual and organizational donor profiles, maintaining biographical,geographical, professional, financial, and other
  • Provide sponsorship support and planning for our four Council Special Events: the York Distinguished Citizen, the Golf Tournament, the Sporting Clays Shoot, and the Eagle Dinner.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure database information of all donors is entered accurately, promptly, and remains up to date.
  • Produces monthly donor acknowledgment and payment reminder
  • Assists in reconciling fundraising reports with the Council’s overall financial
  • Files processed documents and
  • Responds to auditor queries concerning annual
  • Communicates regularly with donors, staff, and
  • Ensures compliance with the organization's policies and procedures for fundraising recordkeeping.
  • Assists with office tasks and events as
  • Comfortable learning different systems for data
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and complete them on time
  • Serves as a backup to other administrative support

Requirements:

  • Knowledge or desire to learn the Blackbaud fundraising
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to occasionally work varied hours during peak

Compensation:

The New Birth of Freedom Council, Boy Scouts of America, is an equal opportunity employer. The starting salary for the position is $17.00 an hour, with a 35-hour workweek.
