Mountain Home seeks a full-time Supported Employment & Education Coordinator (SEC) to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining education and/or competitive employment through the implementation of the Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) Model. The SEC will develop relationships with employers in the community to facilitate successful job matches and work closely with an integrated mental health team to provide high-quality services. The majority of the SEC’s work must take place in person and cannot be done remotely. The hired individual must commit to being physically present at Mountain Home or in the community even during challenging times such as navigating a global pandemic. Mountain Home provides its employees with the necessary resources to ensure safe in-person interactions. 


The ideal candidate is familiar with social services in the Missoula community and has a bachelor’s degree in social work or a similar field and/or related experience providing services to young adults with special needs, severe emotional disturbances, and/or cognitive or developmental delays.


Status: Non-Exempt, Non-Shift, Full-time, 36 - 40 hours/week

Pay Range: $18.00 - $23.00, the hired individual’s wage will be calculated using Mountain Home’s equitable, competitive, and transparent wage philosophy and plan

Schedule: Flexible and to be set at the time of hire, but may be adjusted as needed depending on the needs of the program and its participants.

Location: On-Site at Mountain Home

Travel: Frequent local travel (up ~50% of the time) using company vehicles.

Essential Functions

  • Engaging clients and establishing trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment and education in community settings.
  • Supporting clients in employment and education services, including intake, engagement, assessment, job placement, education placement, coaching, and follow-along support. 
  • Supporting clients with applying for services with our partner organization; Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services (VRBS), and continue to build a relationship with VRBS to support shared clients in the goal of competitive employment and education. 
  • Conducting job development activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the client, following the principles/procedures of IPS.
  • Having scheduled time in our Community Center working with our moms on their employment and education goals. Working closely with Community Center staff on events calendar and staffing Community Center during CC staff vacations and sick days. 
  • Occasionally transporting clients to and from job interviews, jobs, and/or school-related activities
  • Participating in team meetings and communicating with the team to coordinate services and generate ideas to help participants achieve employment and or educational goals
  • Spending half or more of total scheduled work hours in the community establishing relationships with employers, educators, and clients
  • Providing special assistance to the Lead SEC in further development and implementation of the IPS program. 
  • Meeting regularly with your supervisor and attending required meetings and training
  • Maintaining reliability and dependability through a commitment to schedule and tasks 
  • Other appropriate and job-related tasks as assigned


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • 100% of progress notes are recorded accurately and within the required timelines
  • Goal billable hours are met 90% of the time
  • SEP documents are completed to standard and within the provided timeline
  • Progress on IEPs is tracked and documented to standard and case consultation is sought regularly to best facilitate client progress
  • The discharge process is completed following policy and department timelines


MEASURES OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

  • 50% of time allocated to SEP sessions with clients and job development
  • 20% of time allocated to documentation of caseload and administration
  • 10% of time allocated to supervision, mentoring team, meetings, and collaboration
  • 10% of time allocated for client coordination and communication
  • 10% of time allocated to continuous professional development
