RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversee the general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

2. Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

3. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including review and preparation of necessary journal entries and reconciliations.

4. Develop and implement new accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

6. Conduct regular internal audits to identify and mitigate risks related to financial operations.

7. Supervise and manage the Staff Accountants, A/R team, and A/P.

8. Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures.

9. Reviews reconciliation of GL accounts, working to fully develop the monthly audit schedule procedures in preparation for year-end audit.

10. Assists with preparation, calculation, and filing of CA and NV sales tax returns.

11. Participates in and manages preparation and filing of business licenses and other returns necessary.

12. Provides support and backup to the payroll process.

13. Assists CFO with Annual Budget process and file creation, along with ongoing forecasting needs.

14. Lead accounting team to provide accurate, timely, and consistent data and recommendations.

15. Conduct performance evaluations of Accounting staff, coordinate training programs, identify staffing needs, participate in recruiting and hiring.

16. Assist CFO in bank reporting needs.

17. Create, monitor, and evaluate financial systems within the organization.

18. Collect, analyze, verify, and report financial information to document financial performance and assist CEO/CFO in making well-informed financial decisions.

19. Prepares and files IFTA reporting.

20. Manages capital expenditures and manages the fixed asset records, along with some fleet administrative management items.

21. Analyze company expenses, recommend reductions, and exercise controls to maximize company profits.

22. Performs internal audits.

23. Provides back up to CFO with generating, running, distributing Financial Statements monthly by the 15th and year-end forecast.

24. Collaborates on cash flow management.

25. Develops, reviews, understands, and updates Accounting’s Policies and Procedures manual.

26. Maintains confidence and protects financial operations by keeping information confidential.

27. Reviews bank activity for accuracy and assists in managing the banking relationships.

28. Scanning, filing, and maintaining consistent records for the department.

29. Maintains a quality attendance and safety record.

30. Understands and follows all company policies and procedures.

31. Has a team player attitude.

32. Takes responsibility for own mistakes and errors.

33. Organizes and prioritizes the workload assignments independently.

34. Performs other duties as assigned.

35. Provides general support to A/P.

36. Provides general support to A/R.

37. Must abide by the Company Values, Rules of Engagement and culture.

Requirements:

Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles

Experience 5 years of progressive accounting experience required

Supervisory experience required

Advanced Microsoft Office experience required

Great Plains, BisTrack, Management Reporter experience preferred, but not required

Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to anticipate and problem solve

Physical Must be able to pass the pre-placement physical designed for this position

Other Must be able to maintain positive, professional relationships with employees, co-workers and customers

Must be a self-starter, able to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision

Must possess a valid Driver’s License with clean driving record

Equipment Used: This position requires an employee to use computers, copy and fax machines, 10 key, scanner, phones and other equipment as assigned.

Essential Physical Tasks: This position requires prolonged sitting and other physical demands.
