Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, IT Dispatch Operation Systems to join our rapidly growing team As Manager, IT Dispatch Operations Systems you will oversee evaluation, design, documentation, installation, implementation, testing, and performance for IT Dispatch operations systems. You will work closely with business/operations experts and IT leads to ensure alignment of dispatch systems with Brightspeed go-to-market strategies. You will ensure IT dispatch system solutions integrate strategically into upstream & downstream workflows for IT Provisioning, Inventory and Service Assurance systems.

As a Manager, IT Dispatch Operation Systems, your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Building a new team of software developers, testers, and support personnel to enhance, support, and maintain the Engineering systems at Brightspeed
• Balancing priorities from multiple areas and finding innovative IT solutions to business problems
• Assisting business partners with solutions for Dispatch Assignments Optimization, Appointment scheduling, Technician Scheduling & forecasting
• Deep understanding of Forecasting and Analytics for capacity planning
• Identifying and driving implementation of automation to optimize field & dispatch center operations
• Creating interfaces/APIs for Appointment scheduling for upstream Ordering and Service Assurance systems to consume
• Creating interfaces with technician tools to consume for field Operations
• Innovative solutions to reduce field dispatches
• Driving the addition of features to dispatch systems to enable new capabilities to the tool
• Building and supporting Cloud Platform instances needed for dispatch systems
• Planning and execution for migration of legacy dispatch systems to new Brightspeed systems architecture
• Working closely with vendor/3rd party partners to manage progress on solutions development and drive rapid progress

Leadership:

Technical Expertise:

• Proficient in Java and its related technology
• Oversee the end-to-end implementation of field applications including planning, design, configuration, deployment, and support.
• Ensure integration with other dispatch modules and external systems via REST and Kafka
• Utilize programming skills to develop and maintain scripts and integrations using JavaScript, Java, and relational database management systems (RDBMS)
• Ensure secure authentication and authorization practices using OAuth protocols

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the Java platform
• Implement best practices for development, deployment, and maintenance
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary optimizations

Training and Support:

• Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and administrators
• Provide support for application-related issues
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Java and cloud certifications
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java and its related application
• Proven track record of leading end-to-end applications
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining Java based and power apps applications, including micro-services, GitHub, CI/CD using GitHub, Kubernetes, and GCP
• Strong understanding of integration capabilities, including REST/SOAP web services
• Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
• Expertise in designing and implementing Scripts and API in Java and power apps
• Performance management
• AGILE development experience
• Extensive experience driving software design and development for IT systems
• Firm grasp and experience with dispatching algorithms, dispatch optimization, appointment scheduling, forecasting & capacity planning concepts
• Ability to understand and implement complex technical information
• Collaborative, team builder with strong communication skills
