Position:Systems Operations Engineer

Shift:M-Friday; 3 days onsite/2 days remote

Applicable Locations:Charlotte, NC | Chandler, AZ | NYC, NY | Minneapolis, MN | Dallas, TX

Duration: 12-24 months contract

Pay Rate Range:$50+/hr W2

Requirements:

  • SQL / ETL
  • Cloud - Azure, AKS
  • Application specific set up alerting and monitoring (ITRS, SPLUNK, App Dynamics or any alerting or monitoring tools).
  • Incident/Problem management; strong awareness of ITIL
  • Toil reduction Ability to automate and drive operational improvement
  • Schedulers - Autosys
  • Environments - Windows, Linux, Unix
  • Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, SQLMI or anything similar.
  • Vendor platforms - Actimize, FIRCOSOFT.

On-Call Information

Our on-call support model is weeklong. Schedule: Friday Morning 8:30 AM CST thru Thursday Night 8:30 PM CST. At a high level, we would expect:

  • During on-call, be available and acknowledge paging.
  • Responsible for global handovers
  • Perform a preliminary diagnosis of the issue and engage partner teams for further assistance as necessary.
  • If possible lead an active incident or issue triage to be able to represent or assist in resolving the issue.
  • Ensure necessary escalation is performed

General Description

This position is a senior level technical role that will lead application support of production systems with a focus on incident management, problem management, change/release, and other ITIL based functions. The individual will need to lead discussions and collaboration with development and business teams and be able to develop a deep understanding of applications and business functionality. This role requires the ability to operate independently and help transform and mature the support organization. The position will be working in a corporate environment with large, complex, and critical applications across a wide range of technologies. Examples include Cloud, large, complex, Tier 1 IIS/.NET/SQL applications, web hosting with multiple server tier levels, and application and server level clustering and load balancing. Experience with SPLUNK, AppDynamics, and ITRS setup for applications is a strong positive, but not a hard requirement. Ability to automate and reduce toil is a very strong positive.
