Sweet Group of New York LLC is looking for a NYC Contracts Manager to join our 112-year-old New York-based general contracting and construction management firm. Sweet provides the full spectrum of design-build, infrastructure, disaster response, and health facility services. As a leader in the construction industry, Sweet Group and SLS Northeast serve all levels and sectors of government and private industry.

The NYC Contracts Manager will be responsible for supporting the implementation and management of awarded contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support all contract implementation and management needs for awarded projects, including liaising with owner entities.
  • Work with assigned project managers and our central office through the contract award process and post-award requirement submission process.
  • Represent Sweet Group and SLS Northeast with clients to ensure all post-award documentation is submitted on schedule and according to client’s requirements.
  • Liaise with the proposal group to understand insurance, bonding, and legal requirements prior to proposal submission, flagging any concerns or needs early in the process.
  • Liaise with the legal division to review and negotiate contract documents prior to contract execution.
  • Work with the project team to maintain compliance with all executed agreements including, but not limited to schedule, budget, M/WBE, and Section 3 compliance goals, required reporting, insurance, and bonding.
  • Maintain contract files of active and past projects. Develop and maintain a list of past and current project data (ex. project name, client, period of performance, awarded amount, final amount, history of modifications, performance ratings, etc.).
  • Support licensing and other business registration as needed in furtherance of contract implementation.
  • Attend events and meetings, as required.
  • Continuously explore best practices and new innovative ways to support contract administration.
  • Support leadership with various daily task execution.
  • Must work full-time in the NYC Office.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management.
  • City, State, or Federal contract management is a plus.
  • Experience with complex project contracts and experience with management of multi-million-dollar projects is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • SharePoint administration and file management experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
